Robbie's 9 month update

I have been really bad at taking pictures of Robbie.  I don't know why, but I definitely need to get better at it.  He had his 9 month check up a few weeks ago and I thought I could get him out of the 1 percentile, well we did but because he went back down, so he is below the charts at 0 percentile, weighing in at 14lbs 10oz.  What a chunker!!! haha they were still not concerned but they do want him to start gaining some weight.  Seriously that boy can eat!! He eats so much, my kids just have super fast metabolisms. 

I just stopped breastfeeding.  He thought it would be funny to bite me around 50 times and laugh every time even when I would flip his lip he would smile, then cry then laugh.  He is crazy, so after he drew blood 4 times I decided enough is enough and put him on the bottle.  The day I gave up nursing I had withdrawals and was so sad to give it up, so I thought I would just keep nursing morning and night, did that for about a week and now I just pretty much gave it up for good. I would have loved to do it for a year, but hey almost 10 months is better than nothing. 

For about 4 months he has been a terrible sleeper.  He would wake up 3 times a night to eat or just to be held or for a pacifier, well since he has been on the bottle he has been sleeping amazing!! I know it is a combination of things, he is not teething bad right now, he doesn't get the comfort of nursing in the middle of the night and I know that was a big reason, and the bottles I'm sure fill him up more, but we are so happy.  He slept the other night from 8pm until 10:30am.  Crazy right!!! 

A little about my handsome boy...

-He is getting close to walking

-He broke 3 teeth at once and there are 2 or 3 more about to break through (the 3 that came out of the surface are all on the top left) totaling of 5 teeth that are out

-He loves being thrown around, either on the bed or on the couch or hung upside down. Such a boy!

-He is extremely ticklish

-He never stops moving, he is so active and is such a fast crawler

-He eats everything and is not picky in the slightest.  I make his baby food although right now he is in a feeding himself stage, we give him what we make for dinner and he always eats tons of it no matter what it is

-He is such a charmer! He will crawl up to most anyone and just give them the biggest smile (and for some reason men are drawn to him I don't know what it is but its usually men that tell me how adorable he is and they cant stop playing with him or wanting to hold him, its kind of funny)

-He is a mommas boy

-Makayla and him are still best of friends and they never get sick of each other

we went to Utah for Thanksgiving and it was so much fun having all the grand kids play together.  They all had so much fun

my mom came to visit for a week and we got to do a girls night.  She is the best 

few goofy moments with this cute kid.  Seriously he is going to be a year old in 3 months, CRAZY!

Happy Halloween!

October was crazy! We had lots of parties and visitors and fun stuff to do.  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I watch scary movies everyday during the kids nap time, we get to carve pumpkins, go to pumpkin patches, scare Makayla (one of my highlights) the weather here in AZ is AMAZING, I love dressing the kids up and who doesn't love getting bags full of candy?! I mean really this time of year is so fun, not to mention it is the kick off to all the holidays.

This year was so fun having Robbie and Makayla to dress up.  Robbie as you can see was "thing 1" from cat in the hat and Makayla was a little cupcake girl.  They both looked so stinking cute.

 My neighbors dressed their boys up, so the kids were matching and it really was the best costume ever.  Robbie actually won "best costume" at one of the Halloween parties we went to and really it totally was the best costume, by far my favorite ever!

Some of the girls in our ward dressed up and matched the kids too (not intentionally) but it was super cute, they held Robbie most of the time at the party.

How cute does Makayla look?! Gosh I really don't think she should get any older, I don't know how I am going to be able to deal with all the boys, she is such a beauty it scares me!

Amazing Big Sister, Dentist, & Broken toe

I know I always say how awesome of a big sister Makayla is, but it is so true.  I wanted to make sure I documented what happened yesterday, just to have for the record and to look back on. 

 

Any time I leave the room and now that Robbie is mobil, Makayla is so great at telling me if he is getting into the plant, or about to climb the stairs, so either I will get him or I will have Makayla carry him away from the danger area.  Well yesterday I had the kids in Robbie's room and they were playing with a big stuffed animal and they were cracking up laughing, I figured since I just cleaned the room and the monitor was going I would go downstairs for a sec to put a load of laundry in the washer. The next thing I knew Makayla started carrying Robbie down the stairs, I saw her and immediately told her that was not okay to do, she told me he was choking, I looked at him in her arms and he was throwing up and obviously choking on something, so i ran to her and swooped out a little hair tie of Makayla's that Robbie had happened to find and pick up off the floor and put in his mouth. 

 

I couldn't believe how awesome she was to have brought him to me while he was choking.  Many kids probably would either just stare at the baby while it was happening, or try getting it out themselves, or simply just ignore it and continue playing (or maybe they wouldn't have noticed at all).  It just showed how much she pays attention to him and loves him.  He could have possible died if it were not for her.  I am so grateful to have such a loving daughter who loves to play and nurture her little brother. 

 

 

Makayla also had her dentist appt.  She loves going to the dentist, this was her second time and at the end she yelled extremely loud in the office "I LOVE GOING TO THE DENTIST" "I LOVE IT HERE" lol it was hilarious, so glad she likes going =)

 

On other news I broke my toe today.  I put the baby gate up and climbed over it and slammed my foot on the staircase, I heard a loud pop and realized I could not move my middle toe, looked down and yep it was bent to the left. 

 

Fall is here!

 

I love Fall!!  I love Halloween and the beginning to all the holiday seasons, I love when the air starts cooling down especially here in AZ.  We have started our fall season off by having my parents come visit us and we went to the pumpkin patch.  This is the best time of year.

I love watching my kids play with their grandparents.  The pic on the left is so funny, my mom and I were out shopping, when we came home we found my dad asleep on the couch while Robbie was just chilling on his lap.



 

Them snuggling on a different day.  My dad and Robbie had a special bond, there was such a strong connection.  He is a mommas boy, and I am a lot like my dad, so maybe that was why they connected so well, but either way it was so fun to see

Nothing Better

There is nothing better than being a stay at home mom.  I have been extremely blessed to be able to be home with my kids each and every day, and even more blessed to have been able to nanny in the comfort of my home to some amazing little kids.  I am so lucky I get to capture every good and bad moments of our day to day life, so much goes into being a mom and I really do cherish each moment with my kids.  It is extremely hard and demanding and yeah there are times I just need a break and my own space, but I would not trade being a stay at home mom for anything.  Here are just some moments of our life that I get to be there for...

 

 

 She picked out her Halloween costume and did not want to take it off, so she fell asleep in the car wearing her cup cake headband so precious

 

 

 I get to capture all the goofy smiles, and sweet sleeping habits

 

 

 I get to take pictures with my kids while we do absolutely nothing but play

 

 

Can you tell how much they love each other. They are inseparable.  I couldn't imagine not being able to be with them during the day for these moments, or have them be in daycare where they they would be in separate rooms and they wouldn't get this interaction

I know not everyone chooses to be a stay at home mom or has the luxury to do it if they want and that is what makes it even more special for me.  Gratitude is all I can say to sum it up.  They are what help me try to become a better person each day and they are the reason for why I am who I am today. I love them so much and to me there is nothing better than being a stay at home mom.  (now ask me on the days I'm pulling my hair out) haha

Utah Visit

 

Last month we went to Utah for Robert's sisters wedding and had so much fun! The kids were able to spend some quality time with the family.

Too many changes with my baby!

This little boy started crawling!! He took his first crawls a week ago so 6 months 1 week.  He is still not crawling everywhere yet though, which is a relief! But man he sure does look stinking cute doing it!

He also got his fist tooth! Its one of his bottom front teeth, so many changes in 1 day!

Robbie is doing great at eating baby food. I have been pureeing his food.  He loves his rice cereal (took him a while to warm up to it), also he has tried carrots, green beans, broccoli, prunes, apples and banana's.  He does not like the banana's yet.  I mashed it up and I don't think he cared for the consistency.  Its kind of a pain feeding him though, because even though he will open up and eat the food he is constantly trying to look behind him.  I feed him in the bumbo and he tried to push himself out (and he can) along with looking behind, even if I turn him around he keeps looking back. So its a challenge feeding him, but he does like the food.

Teething has been no fun, its definitely changed his personality a bit from really chil and laid back to little fussy, but who can blame him I dont like being in pain either, and he wakes up once or twice a night because he is in pain and most of the time its from his legs moving, he is trying to crawl in his sleep that he ends up getting himself stuck at the edge of the bed and we (and when I say we I mean Rob lol) goes in and scoots him back down and pops a pacifier in his mouth and he goes right back to bed.  Still I cant complain much he is still so sweet and adorable and I'm obsessed with my 2 beautiful kids.

People are always telling me that Makayla looks exactly like me, and I knew we looked alike, but didn't see how we looked "SO" much alike until this picture.

Slow Down

Seriously how did 6 months already go by?! This little light of our life is going to be a year before we know it, even though it feels like he was just born 3 months ago.  Robbie is our sweet amazing little boy and we can not be more blessed to have him as a part of our little family.

Robbie is still my snugly baby, I'll be sad when he stops (but hopefully he never will )

 

He is eating baby foods really good now. We have only introduced rice cereal, applesauce, and green beans, but he can now open his mouth and eat big amounts without having it all come out of his mouth, he likes his little sippy cup (shown in picture) but still working on figuring it all out.  Can you believe he is trying to crawl.  He gets on all fours and rocks back and forth and shoots himself forward...ahh I was hoping he wouldn't start crawling until around 8 months, but looks like we are going to have an early crawler on our hands again, at least he didn't start at 5 months like his sister.  He is also getting pretty good at sitting on his own without support.  Really time needs to slow down because I am not ready for this boy to be doing all of these things.

 

These two still are best of buds and love each other so much.  So grateful that they get along so well and love to play together.  Makes life much easier and brings so much joy to my heart.

- Weighs 13lbs 11oz... 1 percentile

 

- 15th percentile in height

 

- 5th percentile in head circumference

 

He may be tiny, but he is healthy and active and that is what matters the most!

 

* on a side note... I am putting this on here for later when he is older he can read and either be extremely embarrassed, or really proud cuz we all know how boys are, but I would notice other little boys....um pee pee's and noticed that Robbies is not so little, well I asked the doctor today and she said that his is in fact "big" lol and that "dad should be proud" haha oh my I just died laughing so yes he is in fact a little man already! (don't judge that I'm actually posting this I am quite embarrassed)
