Surgery Update

So here's another post with no pictures =( I mean I can take a picture of my stomach after surgery but...its not very pretty.

Here's what happened day of surgery. We had to be at the hospital at 8am, we get there, sign in and they take us back pretty quickly. They asked questions (all that routine stuff) then start hooking me up to my IV. My surgery appointment was for 9:30 but the doctor was running late so they didn't take me back until 10, when they said they were taking me back to the room and I had to leave Robert I was so nervous. The feeling was like when you are on a roller coaster and you can see the drop your about to go down and you get that anxious feeling, that's kind of how it felt, except I wasn't going to feel the tickle tummy part. When I got in the room where they were going to operate, I felt a sting in my arm where the IV was and I started getting dizzy, I asked them if they had put some stuff in me already and they said yes, the next thing I know I'm asleep and waking up in recovery.

In the meantime surgery was only supposed to take 2 hours at the longest and while Rob was waiting in the waiting room he would see all the doctors with other patients come in and update their family members and finally after 3 hours and just a few min earlier he had heard code red, code blue and all that other scary stuff, then the doc finally came out and called Robert into a different room where there were 2 other nurses with her and one looked like she was crying so he had thought "things took a lot longer than expected and he had just heard code red and blue and a nurse was crying that something had happened to me" well she has said everything went good, they removed my cyst successfully and that they had found endometriosis. Then she said it would be another hour until he could see me then another hour till we could leave, so he decided to run to the cafeteria to get food, since he had been there the whole morning waiting.

While I'm in recovery waking up they asked me if my husband had stayed there and I told them yes and they said they were trying to find him and couldn't. So then I start getting worried that maybe he left and had gotten in a car accident, so they called him and got a hold of him and he finally came in, I guess after the doc had talked to him and said it would be another hour until he could see me he left to get food but they called him in to see me 15 min after talking to the doc. haha anyways the whole day of surgery and day after I was in pain, but sleeping on and off the whole day. It was actually a blessing in disguise that I had this cyst that didn't go away because without doing the surgery they never would have found our that I have endometriosis and therefore It most likely would have taken a few more years to conceive and most likely clomid wouldn't have even worked for me. Its actually pretty lucky that it only took us a year to conceive Makayla. So although this was all very hard to go through, it brought us to a reason for our infertility. Endometriosis is one of the top 3 reasons for infertility, and once you have it you have it for life, it will come back in a couple years, but in the meantime now that she got rid of it temporarily we can conceive much quicker and maybe have 2 kids before it coming back and needing surgery again.

Today my dad left and my mom gets to stay until sat or Sunday to help with Makayla. They had to make 4 incisions in my belly and it has been pretty painful along with the bad back pain I've had from the carbon dioxide they put in the belly, but today I'm moving around much better, but I feel very glad to have medicine that helps me feel better or I would not be a happy person!
