Makayla's First Christmas!

This year we spent Christmas with Robs family in Colorado where it was nice and snowy! We had a great time. Before we went to Colorado we had our own little family Christmas with just the 3 of us. Makayla loved opening her gifts it was fun.

The 3 granddaughters got to be together for the first time in a long time! They are all so cute!

Makayla's first time in snow. She even got to be pulled on the back of the four wheeler. She didn't make much expression, but she didn't cry either so I think she liked it =)

hahaha and I had to put these up. She was fascinated with bubbles. We have adopted the name bubbles for her nickname, since mnm doesn't flow anymore. Bubbles fits her in so many ways. That was our Christmas of 2009. We had the best year of our lives with our beautiful baby with us. We are ready to see what surprises are waiting for us in 2010

Ho Ho Ho

Makayla got to meet Santa on Saturday! She did great. We didn't know if she was going to cry but good thing she didn't. She just looked at him trying to figure out who this weird looking person holding her was, but she would look at us while he was holding her and she'd smile. It was fun

I made these fun cupcakes for the primary. Aren't they so festive! and I thought they were stinking good! mmm mmmm

Where are all the Pacifiers?

Here they are! gotta love it when you find your baby with a Binky in her mouth and one in each hand walking around the house. Its even better when she trips and the one in her mouth pops out and she pops one that was already in her hand right back in her mouth and gets up and starts walking around again. This girl is too funny!

Its begining to look a lot like christmas!

Last night we went to the mesa Temple lights and it was so much fun!
This is the first time we got to bundle Makayla up in winter clothes and we absolutely LOVED it. Have you ever seen a cuter baby? We sure haven't =)

Our great friends Sarah and Jake went with us. They are having a baby girl in February and Sarah looks so stinking cute all pregnant!

Skinny Mini

Makayla had her 9 month check up yesterday. She is still skinny mini weighing in at 17 in a half pounds. Most of her little friends that are her age weigh so much more than her, but the doctor wasn't worried. I told the doctor how much I feed her and how often and she couldn't believe she ate that much. She just burns all her food off because she is so active. She's been walking now for about 3 weeks and getting better everyday. She NEVER crawls anymore which is so weird and just shows me how fast she is growing. I'm already having to chase her around the house, but even though its pretty exhausting I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm so grateful that she is such a happy and healthy baby. Another great milestone she has hit is SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT! at six months we finally got her to sleep through the night and it has been amazing to say the least. It has made a huge difference in her attitude and both Rob and mine. She is so much more happy. Makayla sleeps 12 hours every night and doesn't wake up once. I thought when she started teething again that her waking up would come back, but it didn't and the cold didn't keep her awake either. Its been a great blessing. Life has never been better.

Sweet Baby

After all the hard work...

So we finally decided its time to landscape our backyard. This whole year it has been just plain dirt. We were getting so sick of it and smalls just dug holes all over and dust was getting in our home so much it was a pain! Robs amazing parents flew out here to help us do it. They were serious life savers!! There is NO WAY we could have done it without them. Well we could have tried but...it would have taken FOREVER and we probably wouldn't have done a very good job. It was a lot of preparation but well worth it.
Judy and I decided to make trellises ourselves instead of buying them. So we cut the wood to the right size nailed it together and painted them. It was actually pretty fun.

Rob and I laid out the sod all by ourselves yesterday on Halloween day. It took all day long but.. we got it in. We didn't realize how heavy sod rolls are. Thanks to a neighbor of ours who let us borrow their wheelbarrow. Without that we wouldn't have gotten it done in one day

all the plants are mini right now, but they will grow and it will look much better. Once the vines grow on the trellis it will add a lot too.

We wanted it pretty much all grass and simple and that's what we got. Its so nice looking out the window and seeing green grass instead of dirt. Its relaxing and we cant wait till we can go out and play with smalls and Makayla! It was tons of work, but....YAY ITS DONE!!!!

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween! Little miss Makayla was a very cute lady bug. Surprisingly she never tried to pull on her antennas which was pretty amazing. Our neighborhood had a barbecue which was a blast and mnm got to play with all of her friends. We have a couple neighbors who have baby girls all around Makayla's age so it was fun to get them together for a picture. They weren't wanting to cooperate though so it was impossible to get a good shot.
after the barbecue we went over to a friends house and made a ginger bread haunted house and hung out. It was a great night!!

Baby Toddler!!

Ok so I don't even know where to start with this little girl. She just turned 8 months yesterday and she's growing so fast! These past couple weeks Makayla has really been trying to walk, and just this week every day she has been able to take a step here and there all on her own. Today she even took 2 steps!! She has been so fun and active and its so exciting watcher her master each new thing she does.Not only is she almost walking which that by itself it crazy, but she has one little tooth now. It broke through a few weeks ago, so we've been free of the teething monster, but...Just the past couple of days she's back to teething. =( I actually had to stop nursing cuz she was biting me with that one tooth, and I couldn't imagine the damage she would do when she gets more. I'm not sure the risk would be worth it, so even though I wasn't ready to stop it had to be done. I do still want to nurse more kids in my future. =) Also Makayla has become obsessed with eating her little Gerber Puffs and Mum Mums. They have seriously been life savers when she's upset when we're out.
My sister and my dad came to visit Rob and I this weekend and it was loads of fun. She is still shy when she's around different people, but she warmed up to them really quick.
Another thing that's new is she is now FINALLY sleeping through the night. We had to take drastic measures, but after 2 nights she learned to fall asleep on her own and she can self sooth herself when she wakes up at night.

Last but not least today while I was feeding her breakfast out of no where she said MAMMA!!! It was so clear like she has said it a billion times. I have been trying to get her to say it for so long and all she does is smile, so when she said it I was so ecstatic! It was the greatest feeling in the world to have my little girl call me momma, I'm such a cornball, but I'm tearing up right now just thinking about it. She hasn't said it since this morning, but I know its coming soon. All the sleepless night and tears I've cried over the stress or the sadness I feel when she's sick and there is nothing I can do, being a parent is the greatest blessing. We love our baby so much

This past month...

Makayla has become even more active than ever! She never slows down!

Auntie Tonya came out to visit us! We had a blast having her here. Makayla has become very shy around people so it took her a while to warm up to her. She would hide her face every time Tonya looked at her. By the end of the day she was able to hold Makayla, but the next day it started all over again, it was pretty funny and cute! and Makayla and I went to San Diego again! She had so much fun being with Grandma and Grandpa.

She just gets prettier and prettier. I'm so glad those bright beautiful blue eyes aren't fading!

Going, Going, Going!

Our little beauty just turned 6 months! Time is seriously flying by. She had her check up at the doctor and now weighs 14lbs 9oz. She may be little and petite for her age, but she has the biggest personality and has become very vocal lately. =) I don't think its possible to ever get bored with her around
She started crawling at 5 months 1 week and since then has not stopped. 1 week after she started crawling she started pulling herself up on things like chairs, couches, tables, walls, pretty much EVERYTHING! She has also learned how to climb the stairs. She (with us right by her side) climbed the first 9 stairs of our stairwell on her own. I have to keep my eyes on her at all times cuz she has snuck to the stairs and climbed a few without me looking and that has freaked me out so now its time for the gate, I just cant believe how crazy she is. She is so young to be doing all this, but I knew when she was in my belly that she would be a very active, fiesty little girl.

She loves playing with her toys and her friends. We have a couple neighbors that have little girls Makayla's age, and its so fun getting them together to play. She really is one of a kind and we love her to pieces!

California Love

Robs family goes to Carlsbad every year and has a little family reunion with all his relatives. We haven't been able to go the past 2 years, so it was great that we could make it this year. It was a blast! Too long goes by that all the family gets together. I have been able to go home many many times these past few months, but haven't gone to the beach and man do I miss it. We love living in AZ, but it doesn't compare to living so close to the beach. My whole life I've grown up so close and have been able to go whenever I wanted, and after spending a week there at the beach, i've come to realize I want to live there again so bad. I know its just wishful thinking, since its a little too expensive to live, but I'm determined to live there again someday. =) All in all we had a wonderful time with the family. Makayla got to put her feet in the ocean for the first time and got to do some more swimming that she loves. She also this past week has learned how to crawl. Its crazy the past month she has been swaying back and fourth, but at 5 months and 1 week she now can move her hands with her legs. We also had to move her crib mattress lower, since she can now pull herself up to stand. I found her in her crib almost falling out cuz she had pulled herself up over and was almost hanging off. She is so full of energy, and it may be a lot sometimes, but i love it and she's our little crazy Makayla us at the Padres game. They won!

Summer Lovin Having A Blast...Summer Lovin Happend So Fast

This summer has been so much fun. I've got to visit a lot of people and do a bunch of things before I went back to work. My one and only little sister was married on June 13Th and it was a blast. She looked gorgeous and everything just fell into place. Makayla got to try her first foods and just recently she has tried green beans and she actually eats it. I'm not so sure if she really likes it, but at least she doesn't spit it out like the rice cereal. Makayla also went swimming for the first time on her first big holiday which was a blast. This summer has been one of the best summers we've ever had and its because we have our beautiful little baby in our lives. Things may get a little tough sometimes and its much more work than it used to be but looking at makayla's sweet face makes all the hard times very much worth it.

having too much fun at my sisters wedding which ultimately ended with everyone dancing on the dance floor for literally 3 hours straight. It was such a great night.

grandma Miller came out to help me when times got rough. She's amazing and she helped me make curtains and some pillows for our front room. There's nothing Judy cant do. Thank you so much for all the support Judy we're all so grateful you came out. Oh and I had to add the two pics at the bottom of grandma making a silly face and mnm, they're priceless

4th of July Fun!

I love holidays! We went to one of our friends house and went swimming and barbecued and watched a movie. It was so much fun! Makayla went swimming for the first time in a pool and she absolutely loved it. She was so happy, she probably could have stayed in the pool all night if we didn't take her out. Its always so great to get together with friends and have fun. I found a red white and blue outfit that we had in her closet and of course had to put it on her
