If you haven't heard the great news (which I'm sure most or all of you have)

We are PREGNANT!!!!!

We found out while we were in Tampa Fl, and being somewhere else when finding out this news made it much more exciting. Because it took so long to become pregnant I had time to think about if I was going to take a test with Robert next to me, or surprise him. When we found out we were pregnant the first time I had taken the test and called him right away and he came home and we called all our family and friends in that moment and we remember thinking.....now what! hehe so I knew i wanted this time to be different.

I took the test while Robert was working and was in complete shock it was positive! I wanted to do something really cute to surprise Robert, but in the moment I was much too excited to think and only knew where a walmart was so I went there and picked up a shirt and a marker and wrote on it. Rob didn't get home until late that evening, but when he came home Makayla went running to him and he saw the shirt, turned it around and looked over at me with the biggest smile. He was in complete shock as well! We could not be happier right now!

I had a scare early on in the pregnancy. I went to my first doc appt when I was supposed to be 6 weeks 5 days (calculating from when I got my positive ovulation test not lmp) well...we had an ultrasound and the baby was measuring at 5 weeks 1 day and with no heartbeat. A heartbeat doesn't start beating until around 6 weeks and they try not to worry until baby is 8 weeks with no heartbeat, so the heartbeat was not the worst of my worries at that time. It was the fact that he/she was measuring almost 2 weeks behind. The doc said all we could do was wait it out and do another ultrasound in a week to see if there was any progression. In my crazy head I thought for sure the baby had died. Maybe if the measurements were only a couple days off i would have thought differently but 2 weeks is a big difference. I had no pregnancy symptoms either and with Makayla I got super sick right away along with other symptoms. For the whole week I was a wreck to say the least. I was pretty much crying off and on all day and waiting to miscarry. It was a terrifying experience. We had asked our families to fast for us and in the same weekend my parents, aunt, and grandparents had all gone to the temple and put our name in. It was so amazing to know that our names were in 3 different temples at the same time. I finally got into my appt a week later and had my ultrasound and.......ugh there was the heartbeat!! I instantly threw my head in my hands and just started to cry. To know that this baby was alive and growing was the most amazing feeling ever! We still don't know what happened, baby is still measuring small, but only a week behind and everytime we've gone in for an ultrasound the baby had grown slightly more in short time, so i wouldn't be surprised if baby catches up to original size and my due date changes.

Pregnancy thus far had been pretty rough! Other than the scare early on, I became extremely sick. Not morning sickness, I call it all day sickness! Its been pretty hard, I was super sick with Makayla, but it was a while ago, so I cant tell if this one is worse or better I'm thinking it has been the exact same as with Makyala, but at least this time I finally got a prescription from my doctor and it has really helped. It doesn't take the nausea away completely, but enough for me to cook, or want to eat something. I'm 12 weeks sat (wasn't planning on announcing it until 13 weeks but hubby couldn't wait and was begging for me to tell everyone) cute right! and I am so ready to be in my second trimester!!! We feel so blessed and grateful to be able to experience pregnancy again. When trying for so long you start thinking what if I cant have another baby, and now that i am pregnant I have a whole new look on pregnancy and parenthood. I know going through what we went through was only to make us stronger and appreciate this gift that much more. I don't even want to wait 6 more months I am ready to have this baby out and start the no sleep, lots of nursing, hearing the newborn cry's and go through the emotions (because I'm sure my hormones will be raging again after this baby). Bring on this scary yet so exciting time. We are ready!

Hello hair!

From the moment Makayla was born Robert and I would say how we couldnt picture how she would look like with long hair. Today after straightening my hair she wanted up on the counter and wanted me to do her hair so I did. Afterwards I looked at her and couldn't believe how long her hair has gotten. Of course she has curly hair so it isn't this long normally but....wow she no longer looks like a baby (not that she has for a while) but its definitely an eye opener that time goes so quickly and here is our 2 in a half year old with hair halfway down her back.

I absolutely LOVE her curly hair! but it is kinda cool to see her with straight long hair its just a reminder that she is growing up faster than I realized!

Only Makayla

Only Makayla would crack me up in 3 different photos. I caught her reading the newspaper one morning and what did I do....run for the camera =)

Then I found her playing with the dogs with goggles on her eyes.

Last but not least she decided she likes to put the goggles on her head instead of wearing them on her eyes all while being clotheless and wearing a necklace. My daughter is pretty dang stylish! She must have my good taste haha. and she was pointing to her pull up because she had just pee'd in it. Lets just say while we were in cali this whole week potty training didnt exsist. She was outside in my parents backyard the whole week playing with the dogs that she did not want or care to go potty in the house. Now that we are finally home we can get back on the potty training waggon.

Life with this little girl is never dull and I love it!

Florida Fun

Rob had some business to attend to in Tampa, FL for a few days and Makayla and I decided to tag along for the vacation. We ended up leaving a few days early so Rob could have a couple play days. We ended up being there for 6 days and Rob only had to work 3 and they were only half days so even on the days he worked he was still able to have fun in the mornings.

we had such a blast. While we were there we went to a couple different beaches, went swimming in the pool, went to the Florida Aquarium and ate...ate and ate!!

the sand there was super soft!! and the water was incredibly warm almost like bath water!

The aquarium was pretty cool they had tons of differnt things to see and there was a huge splash pad for the kids to play in. Good thing we remembered to bring her swimsuit!

the summer has been so busy for us and so much fun. We got home last night and are now off to San Diego today for a friends wedding!

on other news.......

Makayla is pretty much potty trained!! It is so exciting. I do have to add I say pretty much because she wont go on the big potty out in public but at home (even on our big potty) she hasnt had 1 accident in.....over a week! Maybe because we keep her bottomless everyday while she is home, but we are still so excited and proud of our sweet little girl!

Refinished Huch

So I found this hutch on craigslist and it was in such good condition. The bottom cabinets were missing knobs, but I probably would have replaced them anyways after I painted it. I'm so happy with how it turned out. There were actually a few pretty big cracks but that was an easy fix. I'm so in love with our new hutch!

Before

and after

I decided to replace our console table that I had made and put it in our front room since it was so pretty. It did look good in the kitchen too, but I wanted to show it off. The console table that we origionally had will do in the kitchen for now until I find another hutch that I want to redo.

Look at the beautiful knobs! So pretty!

and back in February we repainted our bedroom and I don't have a before picture but here is the after. Just imagine the before pic as a plain tan wall. So we painted it a grayish/bluish/greenish color haha (it was supposed to be a grey/blue but we loved the color in the end) and I hand painted the quatrefoil by using an outline of the design with cardboard. I love the way it turned out and brought so much to our master!

4 years baby!

Rob and I had our 4 year anniversary on May 12th and this weekend we were able to go to Park City, UT to celebrate it at Stein Erickson Lodge. My mom flew up to AZ to watch Makayla so we could get some alone time. It was like a dream to be able to stay there. Roberts best friend's dad ownes the lodge and hooked us up for the weekend. When we first arrived in our room there was this tray of chocolate covered strawberries and pear sparkling cider complimentary of the CEO Russ Olsen! What a great guy right!

We had our own private hot tub on our private balcony, overlooking the beautiful snow covered mountains, complete with robes and slippers.

Sat night our friends Russ and Kristen came up and we ate dinner at the lodge (and it was seriously good I might add) and had a walk down memory lane. Rob and Russ go way back from first year in college, to their missions together, then living together during college. They always have a blast when they get together

us just being silly in the room together

first night drinking our sparkling cider and eating our strawberries in the hot tub! =)

relaxing enjoying the view

We went to the outlet mall and shopped for a bit (don't have any pics from there though)

It was so much fun and so relaxing. We are so grateful to have the friend that we do in our lives to have been so kind to us. Thank you again guys your the best!
