These days we have been enjoying this AZ weather! Its going to get unbearable soon (which still wont stop us from playing at the "big pools" ) but in the meantime we have been spending all day outside and Makayla has put her plastic pool to use!

just a few things...
I got my hair cut!! I know so weird right? I cant believe I had the guts to do it, and I'm still nervous about it, but I'm glad I wont have to deal with tangled hair this summer when swimming =) plus it always grows back. Oh and anther thing.....notice anything a bit different other than the hair?
ok on to other things poor Makayla has been getting crazy hives all over her whole body for the past 3 days. I took her into the doc and she said it was from her cold virus and there is nothing they can do except continue to give her Benadryl. If it continues to come in 2 weeks then she'll need to get a steroid shot. Hopefully it disappears soon cuz it covers her ENTIRE body. Also when at the doc they discovered she has an ear infection. Boo cold, ear infection and hives=no fun
More news Makayla has been in dance for a month now and is loving it. The first couple weeks were a little difficult cuz she doesn't love the tap part of it, but she is doing so great at the ballet and tumble. It is so cute to watch her during the week do her tap and ballet moves. It sure makes us feel very proud that she likes it and is wanting to learn and do the moves outside of dance.
how cute is she in her ballet outfit? and her and her friend are in the same class (we signed them up together -)I'll have to post a pic of kaylas tap outfit too cuz it is super cute. Can you tell I LOVE that my little girl is in danceSunday, March 13, 2011
Before.....After
This week I was able to redo our Guest room/Makayla's big girl room. Makayla is pretty spoiled and has 2 bedrooms. This room is our guest room but she has been sleeping in it on the queen bed for about a year now, but she still has her bedroom that has her crib and toys and clothes in. We figure when we eventually have another baby she will move into this room permanently while her other bedroom will be the nursery. Anyway so here are the before and after pictures of the new room!

and after...
Yes it is very purple, but in person it actually looks really good and I think I did a pretty good job at making it feel like a guest room and still have it be fun and girly for Makayla. I still have a few more things to do like adding something over the bed and other little things but that wont happen for a while.
I was a bit afraid with the dark purple walls that it would make the room feel darker, but it has so much white in it that it feels so open and airy. I am normally not a huge fan of dark colors on walls, I like more lighter colors, but I really wanted to do something different and fun for Makayla's room and I did not want to do pink, I figured she could grow into it also and still like it as a young teen too if we are still in this home when she's that age.
the dresser in the left pic was the old dresser I already had that I just painted and I LOVE IT! Originally I was going to take off the handles and fill in the holes and add one or two really cute knobs, but I didn't really have the knobs in my budget so I decided I would just paint it and keep the same handles for now then change it later, well...after painting and putting the old handles on I fell in love with it. I instantly changed plans and am now keeping the same handles. I love how it makes the dresser feel kind of antiqued and elegant. With the nightstand I got it at a garage sale for 20 bucks and just saw it in target the other day for 60 dollars! yeah what a steal and the lamp I fell in love with and splurged a bit. It was originally 80 bucks but it was 50 percent off at hobby lobby so I bought that beauty for $40. That super cute clock I got at Goodwill for like 8 bucks or something. Not bad right!
and Last but not least! My headboard!!! Found a really awesome door that was solid wood with perfect paneling, it looked like it could have been almost 100 years old or so, and had gorgeous detailing for the door knob. I bought it for 20 dollars at a big warehouse and I sawed a big chunk from one side and the other (it was a huge door) to fit the length of the bed and painted it black. I also painted the door knob black, then white and sanded down the white so the black would show through and added it to the top middle of the headboard. Before it was not centered since I had to cut the door to fit the bed. I think it turned out pretty dang cute. I love how the room just pulled together so pretty. I got such a good deal on the bedding as well it sells in bed bath and beyond for $150 (still had the price tag on it from bed bath and beyond) and I got it at TJ Max for $47! Heck ya! And it was all ready in time for my sister and brother to get here this weekend!

Big Girl!
Makayla turned 2!!
I cant believe my little baby is now 2 years old! Wow how time flies when you have a kid. For her birthday breakfast she got a bit spoiled and got to eat her favorite breakfast. She ate a chocolate doughnut with chocolate frosting and chocolate milk. And she loved ever bit of it!!
We had such a fun day. Her birthday was on Wednesday which was the day Robert gets to work from home so he was able to spend the day with us so that was great. After breakfast she opened her presents which she got a tricycle and a few other little toys, then we went to the park where she played with some friends
after the park we went to McDonald's for some lunch, ice cream and playing on the playground. It was so much fun!
She absolutely loves her tricycle!!
We decided not to throw a party this year so we spend the night playing and she had her favorite dinner which is pancakes, then she helped me make cupcakes and frosting and ended the night with more fun and lots of hugs and kisses!
She just amazed me at how much she is learning day by day. Her vocabulary is expanding everyday and she is becoming the sweetest little thing. She spends most nights kissing us non stop and let me tell you she kisses the cutest, she now kisses with closed mouth and little fish lips ugh we LOVE it!
Here are a few of her favorite things to do...
-Dance (she LOVES to dance)
-Read books
-Pray (she says her own quick little prayer in her cute gibberish) so cute
-Give lots of hugs and kisses
-Find little stuffed animals or toys and hold them so dear to her face and sleep with them and give them lots of kisses (she is very much into kissing these days)
-Sing songs (may not be saying actual words but she thinks she is singing)
-Play at the park multiple times a day
-And help mommy clean like sweeping, vacuuming, and putting things away
Our sweet Makayla is such a blessing in our lives and we just love her so much! Happy Birthday Toots! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!

Surgery Update
So here's another post with no pictures =( I mean I can take a picture of my stomach after surgery but...its not very pretty.
Here's what happened day of surgery. We had to be at the hospital at 8am, we get there, sign in and they take us back pretty quickly. They asked questions (all that routine stuff) then start hooking me up to my IV. My surgery appointment was for 9:30 but the doctor was running late so they didn't take me back until 10, when they said they were taking me back to the room and I had to leave Robert I was so nervous. The feeling was like when you are on a roller coaster and you can see the drop your about to go down and you get that anxious feeling, that's kind of how it felt, except I wasn't going to feel the tickle tummy part. When I got in the room where they were going to operate, I felt a sting in my arm where the IV was and I started getting dizzy, I asked them if they had put some stuff in me already and they said yes, the next thing I know I'm asleep and waking up in recovery.
In the meantime surgery was only supposed to take 2 hours at the longest and while Rob was waiting in the waiting room he would see all the doctors with other patients come in and update their family members and finally after 3 hours and just a few min earlier he had heard code red, code blue and all that other scary stuff, then the doc finally came out and called Robert into a different room where there were 2 other nurses with her and one looked like she was crying so he had thought "things took a lot longer than expected and he had just heard code red and blue and a nurse was crying that something had happened to me" well she has said everything went good, they removed my cyst successfully and that they had found endometriosis. Then she said it would be another hour until he could see me then another hour till we could leave, so he decided to run to the cafeteria to get food, since he had been there the whole morning waiting.
While I'm in recovery waking up they asked me if my husband had stayed there and I told them yes and they said they were trying to find him and couldn't. So then I start getting worried that maybe he left and had gotten in a car accident, so they called him and got a hold of him and he finally came in, I guess after the doc had talked to him and said it would be another hour until he could see me he left to get food but they called him in to see me 15 min after talking to the doc. haha anyways the whole day of surgery and day after I was in pain, but sleeping on and off the whole day. It was actually a blessing in disguise that I had this cyst that didn't go away because without doing the surgery they never would have found our that I have endometriosis and therefore It most likely would have taken a few more years to conceive and most likely clomid wouldn't have even worked for me. Its actually pretty lucky that it only took us a year to conceive Makayla. So although this was all very hard to go through, it brought us to a reason for our infertility. Endometriosis is one of the top 3 reasons for infertility, and once you have it you have it for life, it will come back in a couple years, but in the meantime now that she got rid of it temporarily we can conceive much quicker and maybe have 2 kids before it coming back and needing surgery again.
Today my dad left and my mom gets to stay until sat or Sunday to help with Makayla. They had to make 4 incisions in my belly and it has been pretty painful along with the bad back pain I've had from the carbon dioxide they put in the belly, but today I'm moving around much better, but I feel very glad to have medicine that helps me feel better or I would not be a happy person!
